When a homeowner has numerous windows, with numerous challenges, the only answer is numerous types of shading solutions! Collaborating with Meredith LeCompte was a treat.
Mixing and matching the ideal window coverings to each room’s dilemma, fit juuuust right for this home in Richmond. This was a multi-phase project, addressing the most urgent rooms first and then going room by room.
Let’s start in the home office…
In the home office, which receives intense morning light, our EcoSmart Insulating shade, with the very popular Top Down/Bottom Up feature did the trick of decreasing the solar gain and providing privacy because the 3-windows are located right by the front door. Now, working-from-home can happen with peace and quiet, while enjoying the sunshine, but not the sweating.

A two-story GREAT family room, two very different shading solutions were needed.

In the main bedroom, our EcoSmart Cellular Shades with Top Down/Bottom Up operation, allows our client to manage their privacy and daylight. We designed the shading with the existing drapery panels and hardware.

In the main bathroom, our client didn’t want to sacrifice style for privacy. A layered treatment was designed using Woven Wood Roman Shade on top of a Room-Darkening EcoSmart Roller Shade. So, depending on their bath mood, dappled filtered light thru the natural fibers or, light blocking for a dark, Zen experience.
