"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. "- E. Abbey

The homeowners of this mountaintop retreat needed a variety of solutions for their window coverings.  From clean, contemporary treatments to fun drapery, we did it all! Kelly worked her design magic, creating treatments that worked for the unique space.

Glare reduction was needed for the cathedral windows in the great room. We designed with a combination of our made in Vermont EcoSmart Roller Shades with automation (for the out of reach shades) and manual operation for the lower shades. EcoSmart Roller shades manage the solar glare and preserve the breath-taking view. In the adjoining kitchen, we continued with our EcoSmart Roller shade design. The fabric filters the light and is easily adjusted to manage the Sun’s glare throughout the day.

In the master and guest bedrooms, our designer took a softer approach with Roman Shades. Fabrics with a subtle color and fun patterns to bring warmth to the room.

In each of baths, Hunter Douglas Roller Shades were chosen. The fabrics used respond well to moisture and are easily cleaned and maintained.

For the game room/home office, we had a LOT of fun with fabric!  Bold pattern for the drapery and custom Roman Shades make a statement. “Fun happens here!”  The flat Roman design truly let the fabric be the focus.

"This was a project that was completed mostly long distance, because this is a second home for my client. We were able to decide on fabrics, operating systems, mounting conditions etc. through email and lots and LOTS of photos- it was so much fun! Because the house gets plenty of Sun, the main goal for the living spaces was light control with view preservation, which is why we went with EcoSmart Roller shades, which will cut the heat gain and solar glare while allowing the client to still enjoy their view. We went with motorized shades in the upper windows for ease of operation. In the bedrooms we wanted to have room darkening as well as a warm, cozy feel so Roman shades were the perfect solution. When raised, the Romans add a lovely splash of color and when they are lowered they instantly make the rooms feel so homey. The basement is a multi-purpose space so we were able to have fun with that room. I absolutely love the playful fabrics that we went with that drapery and roman. This project is a great example of why a mixture of products makes sense for a lot of homes because each space has its own feel and function."
