Hi! I’m Sarah đ
"It feels like my work environment is dynamic, growing and changing along with me." - Sarah
There are soooo many AWESOME people on the GWD team.
And this year, our 40th anniversary, let’s get to know them…better.
Sarah started back in ’21 as our Retail Project Coordinator, shifted to Retail Designer, then Field Operations Coordinator and has now settled in as our amazing Training and Development Coordinator! Sarah is awesome, but has been especially awesome with navigating all the roles she has had and improving training and processes here at Gordonâs. Thanks for being you, Sarah!
And our clients? Nothing but LOVE for her, too!
“Sarahâs help has been terrific in every way!!! Thank you!” – Eric Z.
“Sarah was great, very helpful and super nice.” – Anna G.
“Sarah was wonderful. I really appreciated her keen ear for what we need. Looking forward to working with her.” – Bobby B.
“Sarah lives up to the sign on your showroom door (âWeâre awesome!â). Sheâs a joy to work with, answered all our questions & some we didnât know we had. We are looking forward to seeing her again.” – Cindy and Dennis G.
I arrived at GWD with very little idea of what to expect. I had never worked at a âwindow coveringâ company before, and didnât know anyone else who had eitherâmy own apartment’s dilapidated mini-blinds had been broken for years!
It quickly became clear that almost nobody here had much previous experience with window shades (that helped me feel better). Rather, there were team members from all different work backgrounds and have become experts through a shared commitment to curiosity, collaboration, and hard work.
At Gordonâs, we are encouraged to speak up, ask questions, and run experiments. We are empowered to improve processes, create systems, and develop our skills and professional interests.
A lot of team members have had different roles at GWD over the course of their tenure, including myself. Personally,
Gordonâs has given me the opportunity to change and grow without feeling like that means Iâve outgrown my work environment. Rather, it feels like my work environment is dynamic, growing and changing along with me.
Turns out working at Gordonâs isnât just about window shades. We definitely talk about window shades a lot, but we also talk about systemsâ where we fit within them as individuals and as a company. We explore how to build and change these systems to better serve our clients, team members, community, and environment. We imagine how we each can help make each day better for ourselves and one another.
In my opinion, encouraging this kind of thinking is critically important on a personal, professional, and communal level.
It is also my favorite thing about Gordonâsâand why Iâm so excited to see what comes next.” – Sarah
