Geometry Meets Fashion

There are so many fabulous geometric fabrics right now and we are loving them! Geometric patterns can do a couple of things for you. If you are hesitant to pull a bold color into your design a fabric that has a bold pattern is a great choice.

Check out the draperies in this living room. Were the client to have chosen just a flat cream fabric the whole project could have been blah, but instead by choosing a cream fabric with a great bold geometric pattern the living room is absolutely WOW! AND the designer was able to find a fabric that mirrors the shapes of the table and the great lighting fixture to really pull it all together.

Another time that geometric fabrics are nice are when you have a mixture of fabrics. “If I have a floral fabric and a stripe fabric and maybe a fabric with checks, I like to add a geometric fabric for balance.” says designer Abigail Vietze. Check out the kitchen in the photo below. There is a whole mixture of different fabrics and having the geometric fabric for the windows shades brings all of it together perfectly!
