We’re off to see the wizard! What’s the color for 2013?

I think Dorothy would be glad to hear that the color for 2013 is emerald!

Each year I so look forward to finding out what the color for that year is going to be (I particularly loved 2009’s mimosa). The past few years have featured bright, energetic hues. This year’s emerald speaks more of calmness and serenity.

In this season of whites and blues, grays and browns it is nice to see a bright splash of green- especially a green as vivid as emerald.

Side panels, throw pillows, a duvet- these are all great ways of getting some bright color into a space without having to commit in a more permanent way. The thing with color is that it is always changing- as the sun rises and sets, lights turn on, seasons change the colors in your home are affected. That is why it is so important to make every color decision in your home so you can really see how it will look.
