Unlike the inspiration “The Dundies” “A gift that is worthless and is given in recognition of something meaningless.”

The Shady has ended up being given for actual awesome stuff rather than whitest shoes or whatever, like in the Dundies.

“While Alan may be regretting that his last year will be in a cubicle with me, I truly appreciate being able to bounce some of my customer problems off him. He helps me sort out part issues, understand details that I need for the technicians and shows me where the parts are on the shelves. So much has changed in my repair world over the last 1 1/2 years… vendors closing and merging, our new cell shade line, the multiple warehouse re-organizations, part changes and repairs that we can no longer provide to our own customers. It’s been overwhelming to say the least. Many times he just goes and gets the parts while I fuss over writing the order for the customer. Probably to get a break from me, but I’ll take the help!  Given my health lately, his help and support has been extra appreciated as it is taking me longer to get through the problem solving aspect of these orders at the moment and his patience is admirable in the face of my frustration. His vast well of knowledge is one I know many of us tap into on a daily basis and is so valuable to what we are doing in customer service and the technical/install side as well! Honestly, everyone here helps me tremendously, but Alan is “taking one for the team” right now over here. Long overdue and well deserved!” – from Amy

“Jocelyn is the new Shady Award winner! In the middle of teaching Jocelyn all of the processes in Web Michelle expectedly decided to leave Gordon’s. That left Jocelyn with the unenviable task of polishing her Customer Service abilities without her direct mentor. She has done AWESOME! Not only has she stepped up her own game but she has also taken on the task of training Russell as well. Congratulations Jocelyn and thank you for all you do.”, shared Alan
