AHA-Marching for Maggie!
Gordon’s Window Décor is Marching for Maggie
Williston, VT –Gordon’s Window Décor will participate as team “Marching for Maggie” in the Vermont Heart walk on Saturday, September 26th at Oakledge Park in Burlington. Their goal is to raise $2500 to support programs that focus on fighting heart disease and stroke as well as making healthy lifestyle choices more attainable.
The team is marching in honor of Maggie Towne, the mother of designer Abigail Vietze. Abigail and her mother participated in the heart walk with Gordon’s two years ago. Maggie passed away in 2014 so it seemed appropriate to walk in her memory. Team Marching for Maggie will carry on Maggie’s amazing energy as they walk with other local businesses and teams.
“I will be walking in honor of my mother, Maggie, who lived a full and long life of 90 years,” says Vietze. “Cardiovascular disease claims more lives than all forms of cancer combined. Let’s walk to make sure everyone has access to the education and support they need.”
To meet the $2500 goal, team Marching for Maggie is fundraising from their American Heart Walk team page and hosting a customer appreciation event at the end of August, where a raffle will be held to gather proceeds for the cause.
