Cafe shutters and custom drapery hardware

Downsizing is a challenge. Raising a family in one home for 25+ years, it can be difficult to leave. Overwhelming to say the least.

A Renaissance if you will; a new chapter in life. Our homeowners are tickled with this new stage in their life. They had existing drapery they loved and wanted installed in the new home, but how?

The only wrench in their new digs? Corner windows!!!

Gordon’s to the rescue!

Client Need

Moving into a neighborhood, with neighbors quite close in proximity, our clients needed privacy, wanted to use exisiting drapery and valances, but had very tricky windows!

"I swear when architects design these townhouses, they do not think of the practicality of window decor!", exclaimed our client. We couldn't agree more!

One window is RIGHT in the corner of the living room, as well as pairs of windows pushed into other corners of the bedrooms! Our homeowner was so frustrated and didn't know what to do.

Our Solution

In their new townhome, a large bay dining window looks over the very public porch.

With valances bringing the charm, our Normandy Shutters brought the privacy and light control to the the home.

Country charm, delightful antiques and colonial furniture; cafe shutters fit their aesthetic perfectly.

With classic white, Normandy Woodlore Shutters with UV inhibitors, (do not release any volatile organic compound), protects against color fading and yellowing. Reinforced engineered wood stiles provide an intense level of durability & structural integrity.

This construction has better consistency & durability than a regular wood shutter.

In the master bedroom, the corner windows were a frustrating thorn in the homeowner's side.

We called on Porter Preston for help!

Custom drapery hardware was designed specifically for this corner angle.

In the guestroom, a different challenge presented itself. With windows smooshed into the corners of the room.

We designed hardware had to accommodate the lack of space.

In the living room, the homeowner had the same design challenge.

Delish drapery hardware for a window that is FLUSH in a corner? Porter Preston prevailed!

Throughout the new home, we wanted to create continuity with the window decor.

Our designer, suggested a horizontal blind to mimic the shutter aesthetic established in the first room you see upon entering the home.

Our clients are now nestled in for the next chapter of their lives, with comfort, privacy, style and ease.
