The Shady award has ended up being given for actual awesome stuff rather than whitest shoes or whatever, like in the Dundees

GWD now has its very own award- The Shady!
Unlike the inspiration “The Dundies” “A gift that is worthless and is given in recognition of something meaningless.” The Shady has ended up being given for actual awesome stuff rather than whitest shoes or whatever, like in the Dundies.
An homage to The Office “Dundie”!!
The idea is that when a Team Member does something awesome, the Team Member that has The Shady, it’s their opportunity to pass it on – rotating through all Team Members before any repeats!!
Kelly announced the VERY first recipient of The Shady was Andrea!!
Kelly said, “I am VERY proud to announce the very first recipient of The Shady is Andrea for going to a client’s yesterday to bring drapery pins to Designer Michele, Seth and Install Tech Ryan to help ensure the project was a success! Thanks Andrea!”

Andrea said, “STEVE! He is also clearly deserving of The Shady, for how awesome he is on a daily basis! However, as some of you were witness to, Steve fought me pretty hard on accepting said honor…but I am pretty relentless. He’s clearly also stoked about it.”

“Michelle!!! Huge shout out again to Michelle for completing the tube chart project! That was a long time coming and had several changes and reiterations along the way as we figured out what things worked and didn’t work. Thank you, you are much appreciated!!”

“Krystal! Krystal messaged me last week asking for help with a recurring problem that led to an exciting computer program “discovery” and a simple way to improve the quoting process! I can see that Krystal is thinking of ways to improve the processes and has embraced the Retail Coordinator position, which isn’t an easy task. Keep bringing me the process issues and I will do my best to find a solution! This was an exciting result of asking the questions. Thanks again, Krystal!”

Sarah is awesome, but has been especially awesome with navigating the install schedule and improving training and processes here at Gordon’s. Thanks for being you, Sarah!” 🥳

Sarah exclaims, “The Shady goes to……JEREMY! Obviously, Jeremy is awesome. Specifically, he jumped in the field to help Chris with installs, which meant we did not have to reschedule a day’s worth of installations (would have been very tricky). Jeremy continues to rock it in shipping/receiving & make improvements to the space/systems in a BIG way. He speaks up when he has an idea that could make things easier for his teammates. For me, having Jeremy to bounce ideas off of in my current role has also been invaluable. So, YAY JEREMY!!”

“Ryan!!! Why because he’s awesome!! Also he is a great coworker, his attention to detail is second to none. He’s always available to help in any way he can. GWD is very lucky to have Ryan.”

“We all know our Roller team has seen a few setbacks recently, and there’s Shannon quietly keeping the rollers rolling while also helping to train a new employee.. To top off the week, Shannon joined Brian for an installation on Saturday which is typically a day Shannon would be found on a mountain bike or horse. Shannon-This Shady is for you my friend! Keep on rolling……”
