Residential in-home Designer

Overview

Here at Gordon’s Window Décor we believe that the window is one of the most powerful design elements in a room rendering window treatments one of the most important design decisions a client will make and we are proud to help in that decision making process. Gordon’s has been a Vermont based designer, fabricator, and installer of custom window treatments for the residential and commercial markets since 1986.  We are seeking candidates for our Residential Design Team.

Job Summary

Our Design Team is responsible for consulting with clients to find the perfect window treatments for their home or office. All of us at Gordon’s are firmly committed to making every client a Raving Fan and as such we are passionate about creating long-term relationships with every client who chooses to work with us. This is a fast-paced position that offers a flexible schedule, sick and vacation time, a Simple IRA match plan, dental and a great team atmosphere.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with clients in their homes or offices to advise on styles, colors, products that will best meet their budget and fit their design aesthetic.
  • Follow through on all leads with professional communication.
  • Cover showroom which includes rotating Saturdays
  • Represent Gordon’s at community events like home Shows
  • Stay up-to-date on product education
  • Measure windows accurately
  • Price orders in the field accurately
  • See every Project through from start to finish
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients beyond the completion of install

Gordon’s Window Decor, Fulfillment Associate

Temporary, part-time position

Work Assignment Period: June – September (4 month assignment)

Work Schedule: Flexible within Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm (max 30 hours/week)

Please note, this is a temporary, part-time position and is not eligible for benefits.

Overview

Gordon’s Window Décor is a Vermont based designer, fabricator, and installer of customer window treatments for the residential and commercial markets.  We are looking for candidates to join our fulfillment team during our busy summer season.  This position has the potential to convert to a full-time permanent position.

Job Summary

Our fulfillment team is responsible for getting our products to our clients – production, shipping, and installation.  This position will work with other members of the fullfillment team to add customer value and create “raving fans”. Duties may include, but are not limited to: unloading trucks, receiving and placing materials in storage areas, prepping materials for production and assembly, packing and preparing customer products for shipping or installation, assisting installation teams on job-sites, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.  Consistent, on-time attendance is required.  This is a fast-paced, team oriented position that must work with others in the company to achieve our goals.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Unloading, unpacking, storage and inventory of raw materials
  • Preparation of materials for production
    • Cutting metal rails and tube, cutting fabrics, light assembly
    • Counting and kitting of parts and components
  • Packing of customer materials for shipment or installation
    • Assembling boxes, packing materials, and labeling
    • Preparation for shipment with UPS Software
  • Loading, unloading, unpacking, and layout of product for installations at customer locations
  • Maintain all work areas in a safe, organized, and clean manner
  • Willingness to cross-train into all customer fulfillment areas as needed

Knowledge, Skill & Experience Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or demonstrated experience in a manufacturing / production environment.
  • Ability to work fluently with numbers, fractions, and calculator.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure work is accurate.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiar and comfortable with power tools: cutoff saw, drill press, router.
  • Comfortable with basic computer functions and web based software and applications.
  • Previous pallet jack experience a plus.

Gordon’s Window Decor, Fulfillment Associate

Full Time Position

Work Assignment Period: Permanent

Work Schedule: Starting flexible within Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm (up to 40 hours/week), after 90 days flexible within Sunday – Saturday, 7:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. (up to 40 hours). This is a full time position eligible for benefits.

Knowledge, Skill & Experience Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or demonstrated experience in a manufacturing / production environment.
  • Ability to work fluently with numbers, fractions, and calculator.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure work is accurate.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiar with use of hand and battery powered tools:  drills, drivers, measuring tools, saws, pliers, cutters.
  • Comfortable with basic computer functions and web based software and applications.
  • Previous pallet jack experience a plus,  OSHA 10 / 30 certifications a plus
  • Valid VT state drivers license
  • Willing to be subject to background check due to specific work location requirements
